Scothiam's blogOrangePC 660 in actionAfter a clean install of Os 9 (was trying to setup a tri boot system with OsX, Os9, and Ubuntu, which was not going well) tossed the 660 in there and fired it up! After installing the OrangePCi software, then the 3.4.2 update, booted up into Windows 98, looks great, no image problems or anything! I'll post some pictures shortly. OrangePC 660 has ARRIVED!!!more to follow, but for now know that I now have my hands on a decked out AMD k6-2(or 3) 450 with 256mb of ram and the install cd for version 3.4 and "easy install" (orangepc made disk images) for Windows 95 and 98!!! Stay tuned! Photo Gallery of PC CardsTrouble shooting gets old...Well, I've installed both Windows 95 and 98 on my OrangePC 620 and 530. Thats the good news. The bad news is that the graphics are kinda pixelated/distorted on the 620 and any attempt to update drivers pooches the Os. Ahhh, I forgot those good old days of 95/98. Works well if I leave it alone and just accept the artifacing. Will try to get networking going, and may settle on this state. What's next...Well, I've been fairly busy of late, and I'm wondering what I can really use all this for... Since I design web sites, it is ideal to test these new sites on multiple platforms, and since I don't yet want to spend the money and upgrade my current laptop (to make virtualization less painful), I am going to turn this G4 tower my "test bed". I've installed Os 9.2, Os X .3, and now with the OrangePC 620, Windows 95!!! So the next step is to try and get my Apple Compatibility Card running alongside the OrnagePC-620, for multiple windows environment at once!! |
